Profile:

Lori A. Woeste is an Assistant Professor in the Medical Laboratory Science Program. Dr. Woeste’s interests include the content areas of chemistry, laboratory education, and management. In addition to more than 20 years clinical experience, Dr. Woeste holds her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University. In her 3 years of teaching at ISU, she has taught the general courses of:  FOI and Introduction to Medical Laboratory Science, as well as the MLS major courses of: Introduction & Advanced Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Laboratory Management & Education, and CLS Special Topics & Research Design.  Dr. Woeste’s research interests include the scholarship of teaching and learning in Medical Laboratory Science as well as curriculum design. Dr. Woeste is currently working on: the inclusion of MLS students in basic science research, whole cell biocatalysts for producing biodiesel from waste fats and associated curriculum development.
