Each semester, the School of Information Technology offers a number of teaching assistantships for qualified, full-time students in the ITK master’s program. Graduate Assistantships are typically not offered at the time of admission to the program. Newly admitted students are interviewed for remaining positions when they arrive on campus.
All Graduate Assistantships include a full tuition waiver (including a tuition waiver for classes taken during the following summer) and a monthly stipend. Half-time graduate assistants work an average of 10 hours per week, and full-time graduate assistants work an average of 20 hours of work per week. Teaching assistants are provided office space with shared computer workstations.
Teaching assistants typically assist with labs for courses such as the following:
Only full-time students are eligible for graduate assistantships, with the exception of students in their final semester with fewer than 9 credit hours of requirements remaining.

The School of Information Technology awards Graduate Trustees’ tuition waivers to eligible ITK graduate students on a semester-by-semester basis.
During the first two weeks of classes each semester, students admitted to the ITK graduate program may apply for a Graduate Trustee’s Tuition Waiver. Students not receiving tuition waivers through Graduate Assistantships may be eligible for these partial tuition waivers.
Both full-time and part-time students are eligible for tuition waivers. Only students who have completed less than two years full-time or 40 credit hours are eligible. Students need not demonstrate financial need. Tuition waivers minimum requirements are as follows:
