The School of Information Technology offers an area of specialization in information assurance and security at both the graduate and undergraduate level. This specialization prepares students to enter the workforce ready to handle security issues across networks and applications as well as integrate security plans across multiple systems and platforms.
Information assurance and security is continually evolving and crosses disciplinary boundaries. Therefore, curricula across the university will need continual updating. The center ensures that the curriculum in the School of Information Technology remains up-to-date and that curricula in other departments at Illinois State University reflect the changing needs of the information assurance and security field. Additionally, the center shares its curricula with other institutions.
