Faculty Professional Development Fund
The College Research Council is pleased to announce the CAST Undergraduate and Graduate Student Travel Programs. A maximum of $200 will be awarded to a student to present the results of research at a state, regional or national conference. Undergraduate students who have completed a research project under the direction of a member of the CAST faculty are eligible to participate in this program.
Eligibility:
Any current CAST undergraduate student presenting the results of research completed within the past two years. This research must have been conducted under the direction of a CAST faculty advisor.
More than one entry may be submitted from each CAST department. Travel must occur during the current academic year. Applicants must provide written confirmation that an abstract has been accepted for the conference program or a copy of application made to the conference. The student must be the presenter at the conference. A student may receive only one travel grant from CAST per fiscal year. **Note to Faculty Advisors: If 3 or more students are sending applications please send all applications packaged as a group.
CAST Review:
Applications will be reviewed by the CAST Assistant Dean for Research. The research will be evaluated using the following criteria: a. quality of the research project; and b. quality and appropriateness of the conference.
Funding: Funds subject to availability
The maximum amount of funding available to a student is $200 and will be granted upon receipt of written confirmation that the project has been accepted for the conference program.
Application Process:
Please submit the application (editable pdf), an abstract of the research project, and either written confirmation that the presentation has been accepted on the conference program or a copy of the application made to the conference to the CAST Dean's Office, Turner Hall, Campus Box 5000.
