Every year CAST recognizes some of its most successful alumni. Last year, a cocktail reception was held in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center to celebrate the Hall of Fame Inductees.
Daniel T. Kelley is chairman of the board and president of GROWMARK, Inc., a position he has held since September 1, 2000. He operates a grain farm near Normal, Illinois in partnership with his two brothers. He currently serves as the ISU Alumni Association President and has served as the Agriculture Alumni Association President.
Peter F. Brust was sworn in by Superintendent of Police Jody P. Weis as the Deputy Superintendent of the newly formed Bureau of Professional Standards on February 19, 2008. In 1985, he began his career as a law enforcement officer in the State of Illinois in the Investigative Services Bureau, Illinois Department of Revenue. He graduated from the Illinois State Police Academy as president of Local Class 400-14. In 1986, Brust joined the FBI. He most recently served as a Special Agent in Charge in the Los Angeles, California, Field Office until his retirement on January 31, 2008. Brust holds a Juris Doctor Degree from The John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Sciences from Illinois State University.
Ms. Hill graduated with a baccalaureate degree in 1983 and ultimately earned the doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the John Marshall Law School in 1989. Donsia is currently a partner in the law firm of Godfrey and Kahn, where she is the first African American women to be so named. Donsia’s career has taken her from a cabinet level position in the administration of Governor Jim Doyle in Wisconsin to a senior level policy analyst to President Bill Clinton. Donsia has served as a senior advisor at the United States Department of Energy and has also served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Brown County Wisconsin.
Jennifer Wood-Ives graduated from ISU’s Clinical Laboratory Science program in 1997. After graduating from ISU she went on to earn a Masters of Public Health. In 2004, Jennifer earned a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, Texas. Her research has been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Bradley D. Brown is Chief Technology Officer of TUSC. Thomas Kurian, senior vice president – Oracle Server Technologies Division, says, “Brad is among the foremost experts on Oracle’s technology in the world.” Along with co-founders Richard J. Niemiec and Joseph C. Trezzo, Brad is part of an award-winning company that earned the 2007 Oracle Titan Award, 2004 North America Oracle PertnerNetwork Partner Solution of the Year in the category of Oracle Application Server, as well as the Internet Platform Partner of the Year in 2002. TUSC also has won the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the category of “E-developer,” was inducted into the Chicago-Area Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in 1998 and earned an Arthur Anderson-Chicago Best Practices Award for “Unleashing the Power of Technology.”
Dr. Keough served the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from 1955-1985 as a faculty member, Acting Chairperson, Program Director, President of the Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, President of the Illinois Association for Professional Preparation in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and Vice President of the Mid-West American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
COL Yvette D. Nonte is a third generation soldier and was the first battalion commander of the Red Bird ROTC detachment and served as President of Tau Beta Sigma sorority. She has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Ribbon.
A 1983 graduate of the Department of Industrial Technology with a concentration in plastics was named the Department of Technology Distinguished Alumnus in 2006. Upon graduation, Don worked for Rockwell International Automotive Plastics where he earned five promotions in five years. In October 2000, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Industrial Technologist Award from the National Association of Industrial Technology.
