CAST Oustanding Teacher Award

The College of Applied Science and Technology takes pride in recognizing teaching excellence. Each fall semester, the CAST Awards Committee accepts applications and materials from tenured or tenure line faculty members in the College interested in being considered for the CAST Outstanding Teacher Award.

Preparing materials

When preparing materials for submission and consideration, faculty members should abide by the same guidelines and suggestions for format as are established for the University-level Outstanding Teacher Award-Category I. The Awards Committee will apply the same criteria when reviewing materials as has been established for the university-level award. Visit the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Web site for details.

The deadline for submitting application materials for the 2007-2008 CAST Outstanding Teacher Award to the CAST Dean's Office is October 12, 2007.

Recipients of the CAST Outstanding Teacher Award receive $500 and a plaque recognizing this honor. A plaque that hangs in the CAST Dean's Office related to this award identifies the recipients of this award as well. Each new recipient of the award is invited to make a presentation at the CAST Fall Faculty Meeting in August. Recipients are then eligible to submit materials for consideration for the University Outstanding Teacher Award-Category I in subsequent years.
