Research Awards

Faculty Awards

Each fall, the University and college are provided with the opportunity to recognize faculty actively involved in research at various stages in their careers. There are three separate competitions involved:

  1. CAST Outstanding Researcher Award
  2. University Outstanding Researcher Award
  3. University Research Initiative Award

CAST Outstanding Researcher Award

The criteria and application for this award parallel those for the Outstanding University Researcher Award, with one exception. A letter of support from a source external to the University is not required. Please note that more than one application may be submitted from each academic unit.

A specifically designed cover sheet should be attached to each application packet. Applications are reviewed for award, and recommendations are made to the CAST Dean, by the CAST Research Committee (CRC).

The Individual selected as the CAST Outstanding Researcher will

  1. Receive funding for research related activity from the Provost's Office and from Research and Sponsored Programs;
  2. Provide a 10-15 minute summary presentation of the research agenda at the Spring CAST Faculty Meeting;
  3. Be eligible to compete for University Outstanding Research in subsequent years.
